Butorphanol
Butorphanol is a clear example of a a drug gaining popularity due the ease of using it. It became a popular drug of abuse only after it became available as a nasal spray as opposed to it's original injection form.
Butorphanol is used for moderate pain control. It has been found to be more successful for the treatment of women then for men. It is typically used for migraine and for the pain during labor.
Side effects include sedation, confusion, dizziness, and nausea and vomiting.
